CHRIS SQUIER

Born in the seventies, I grew up in a factory town outside of Newark, NJ," Chris recalls during a radio interview, " My parents had a fantastic record collection, and I grew up listening to all kinds of music. For me, that's where it started. Things like that become a part of who we are." Chris' Americana Rock songwriting is a reflection of these no-nonsense, blue-collar sensibilities, and his "working man's rasp" echoes with tinges of Springsteen, Rod Stewart and Bob Seger. When on stage, he holds nothing back. " The songs come from...imperfections,” Chris muses, “It's epiphany and confession all at once. I suppose that leaves me very exposed emotionally, but in my experience that's where the best of what you have comes from. Your audience, whether three or three thousand deserve nothing less.”

Although Chris' songs may be emotionally charged, they all have a soul and energy to them that implicitly whispers to the audience a message: no matter how screwed up things may seem, it'll work out. We're all screwed up, but that doesn't mean we give up.

And that's the unique thing about a Chris Squier show. You can't help but feel better about whatever's pulling at your coattails after you've seen it. And if you already feel good, you'll come out supercharged. He interlaces his Irish wit like a old craftsman between songs, and shares the stories from over a decade of being a working musician on the road. “It's a weird life,” Chris states. “People ask: 'Why do you keep doing it? You haven't become rich or famous by now. What's the point? 'It's all about the beauty of the journey. It's a true blessing that to get to meet people from Boise Idaho to Boston Massachusetts who have incredible stories to tell. And that allow me to share mine. Whether playing for 5 or 5,000 I'm grateful for every opportunity." :-)
